I’m 21 year old and third year student studying Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting at Victoria University. What i love to do is travelling, swimming, reading and listening music.

Like others, music is a big part of my life. I listen to music whenever I can since the morning when i wake up to the bed time every day. I play music when I’m on train, bus, on the way to uni, to work or even when I study, Music improve my mood and my concentration on studying. Listening to inspirational songs makes me feel stronger and have positive thinking to go through hard times in life.

My favorite artists are Yolanda Adams, Beyonce, and Alica Keys who i want to blog about in order to share their amazing songs to the readers. Although these songs were released long time ago, they are inspirational and timeless songs you should listen to. Every song has a message to audience and doing blog about the lyrics, explaining what those songs are about helps the audience to understand more about what they are listening to. And, importantly, the blog can also help them to get the message and they might find their situation in the songs which encourages them, helps them go through rough time in life.

I am a 24 year old studying a double degree in a Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Sport Management. My interests mainly revolve around AFL – especially the North Melbourne Football Club, bartending, TV shows and of course music which led all of us to establish this blog.

As mentioned by Jacob, music is a huge aspect of my life as I’m sure it is in anyone else’s, with influences of music all throughout my life, as young as four years old when my father was introducing me to bands that he grew up with, bands he went and watched live countless time to the new friends I make in recent years introducing me to their style and taste, I love finding new bands and artists. Personally, I prefer mainly Australian Music, maybe this is because it’s home grown and I can relate to their songs a lot, I’m not sure, but I love most Australian artists, focusing mainly on Rock such as Gang of Youths, The Jungle Giants, Hockey Dad, Dune Rats, the Smith Street Band, Skeggs, etc. And Australian Hip-Hop mainly the Hilltop Hoods, Thundamentals, The Herd, Bliss n Eso, Funkoars, Spit Syndicate, etc.

The main reason behind musical blogging was to inform those who share my interest in these types of bands and artists why I enjoy their songs so much, I’m always interested to read how other people react and feel about the favourite songs, so I wanted to let others know how I felt about my favourite songs. I chose to focus on the Gang of Youths throughout this blog as the past few months haven’t been the greatest and the songs that Gang of Youths perform were written while the lead singer and lyricist was going through something very similar. These songs speak to me very deeply and have helped and continue to help through these rough times, so I hope that readers will enjoy these songs as much as I did!

Jacob

I’m a 23 year old 2nd year student studying a bachelor of Business majoring in Marketing and Supply Chain and Logistics Management at Victoria University. A few of my hobbies include soccer, sneakers, music (quite obviously) and spending time with my friends.

Like many others i’m sure, music is a constant presence in my life even in times when i may not be consciously aware of it. I play music when i study, when i exercise, to lift my mood, when i’m feeling apprehensive, in the car, at home when i’m relaxing – in almost any situation to be honest. I would struggle to count the number of times i’ve had a melody or particular lyric stuck in my head, sometimes for absolutely no reason whatsoever. It is a familiar presence; often like an old friend, and is something that is a huge part of my life. Whilst i count many rappers among my favourite artists (Lupe Fiasco, J. Cole, Bas, Kanye West, OutKast), bands and artists such as The Strokes, Everything Everything, Jon Bellion, Boy & Bear, and Audioslave are favourites.

The aspect of music blogging that interests me most is the ability to really analyse and engage with messages that the artist is trying to get across. Music is a very expressive medium and is often responsible for creating strong emotional connections between people or eliciting powerful thoughts and feelings. Despite having what i consider to be a very eclectic taste in music, I constantly find myself returning to genres like Hip-Hop and Rap in particular and on a personal level, it is intensely enjoyable to delve a little deeper and unearth why that may be and showcase some of my current rotation.
